Each lamp starts as a cylinder thrown on the potter's wheel.
 
Small slabs of clay are cut by hand, then joined to the cylinder one at a time using score and slip — both surfaces are scratched, coated in clay slip, pressed together and blended in from the edges. The shapes change with every piece.
 
The cylinders are then stacked to form the lamp. A single cylinder took us fourteen hours to make, so no two Sculpt lamps will ever look the same.
 
This one is burgundy, in a matte chalk finish.
