Raw collaborative | 'ORBIT' floor lamp display 🕯️

-At The Design Gallery, Raw Collaborative, 2018. The Orbit lamp’s deliberately imposing scale and form is inspired by our planet Earth. Supported by a mild steel frame, it is tilted at an angle evoking images of the globe floating through space.

The globe displays various weaving patterns exploring banana fiber and cane as materials. The light passing through the weaves casts dramatic shadows highlighting the artisan’s work on the surfaces around.

In an era where the environment is imperiled, Orbit’s use of alternate natural resources prompts one to consider the shadows we cast on those we leave behind.
