Pillar of Ties - Totem
A pillar reborn in clay — not to uphold roofs, but to hold memory, light and pause.
A pillar reworked in clay. The reference is structural — the column that carries a roof — but this one carries nothing. It holds light, and a place to pause.
Built in parts, as our totems are: stoneware forms stacked in sequence over a mild steel base and pipe, partially finished in our signature in-house claypaste, with wood introduced through the body as a second material.
A recessed space at the centre takes a diya, a candle, incense, or a few stems. The piece is meant to be used, not only looked at.
At seven feet it is among the tallest work we make. Old traditional indian forms, new voices — a pillar that belongs to a room rather than holds it up.
Handmade to order.
