Asteroid Pendants - Handpainted
A constellation of pendants at varying heights, hand-painted and crafted in Clay
A cluster rather than a single fixture. Four pendants, ranging from four to five feet, hung at staggered heights so the group reads as one composition.
Each pendant carries multiple light sources — integrated LED strips within the body, and an optional glass globe at the base for a directed point of light. The bodies are stoneware clay over a mild steel pipe.
The surfaces are hand painted in a geometric, abstract register. The painting is applied to the finished clay, so it follows the surface rather than sitting flat on it, and each pendant resolves differently.
Available in multiple drop heights. The cluster shown runs from four to five feet; we have made these to fifteen feet from the ceiling, and built a related totem at twenty-seven feet, built floor to ceiling. Drops are specified per pendant, so a cluster can be composed for the volume it hangs in rather than fitted to it afterwards.
